Joe The Plumber and John Mc Cain

I am Joe The Plumber
Joe The Plumber – Republican Savior?

“Its true this morning I've dismissed my entire team of senior advisors, all their positions will now be held by a man called Joe The Plumber.” - John Mc Cain quipped at the 63rd Anniversary dinner of Alfred E. Smith. A day after the third and final debate of the US presidential elections, where Mc Cain mentioned him more than 13 times in the first 10 minutes!

So is 'Joe the Plumber' the new strategy for attacking the presidential campaign of Barack Obama by the republican party? The frenzy about this small time plumber, since he catapulted to Super Stardom hood has grown ever since he asked Barack Obama point blank “the new tax plan is going to tax me more isn't it?” while the latter was campaigning in Toledo, Ohio.

It seems Joe Wurzelbacher, who is now popularly known as “Joe The Plumber,” is John Mc Cain's new attack weapon against rival Barack Obama. In fact, the mention of “Joe The Plumber” featured more at the final presidential debate than talks about the economy or Iraq, making him the “star” of the event!

John Mc Cain counter attacked Barack Obama accusing him of “digging” into his (Joe The Plumber) personal life. This is after it turned up in news reports that the plumber, who questioned the tax plan of Obama, owes taxes and doesn't even have a license for his plumbing work. Mc Cain further went onto justify the question asked by Joe, saying that as a citizen of America he has a right to ask any question, that would help him decide on his “future leader.” Mc Cain's comment - “I think Senator Obama could use a few more tough question,” aptly describes the impact of Joe The Plumber on the US Presidential Elections, 2008.

Mc Cain's vicious attack on Obama's tax plan is effectively summarized in the statement - “America didn't become the greatest nation on Earth by spreading new wealth. We became the greatest nation on Earth by creating new wealth.” Obama had spoken about “spreading” the wealth, which is good for everybody, in response to the question asked by Joe The Plumber.

So is Joe, Mc Cain's ticket to winning the Presidential election? That remains to be seen, but this small time plumber sure has became the rejuvenating life force for propelling the Republican campaign.
