What is this fuss about 'Joe the plumber'? What is the connection between Joe the Plumber and the average American?With the political center-stage nearing the final stages for commencement of a long awaited battle, as the state prepares for the 56th consecutive quadrennial elections, Barack Obama and John Mc.Cain are teething in out for the ever so needed political mileage. So what would it be? The Democrats or the Republicans? What is the game plan of the Republican Party who so aptly have chosen John Mc.Cain, a senior US senator from Arizona as its nominee? Would Barack Obama live up to the expectations of the Democratic Party?
Well, Obama definitely seems like a man with a lot of fire, and has won the hearts of millions of American through his fiery speeches and a promising attitude. But would America be contended with 'never implemented' pre-election promises? John McCain definitely has a lot of political expertise and popularity and as a part of his pre-election campaign has seriously questioned the country if they would be willing to choose an Afro-American as their president? Well, it is true that this is the first time in the history of America that an African-American has been chosen as a presidential nominee, but what is the American population thinking? Do they see the future of their country shining under Obama's leadership? We can keep guessing and be sure that time would be the answer.
Today every average American thinks the way Joe the plumber does. A small time plumber by profession, Joe plans to buy his own company in the near future. Burdened with growing taxes, Joe is worried about the outcome of the presidential election in near future, and the effects it can have on profession and income. In a brief interview with Obama, he was re-assured that for most Americans, there would not be a raise in taxes. Obama went on saying that, he would ensure that low-wage workers would not be burdened with additional taxes. On the contrary, he would try to triple the earned income tax credit for most. Steps would be taken to increase the work incentives at the bottom. He would also cut taxes for people for the middle income group. He also plans to provide $1000 tax relief to numerous workers and maintains that tax benefits would be provided for payment of childcare, college and to enable people to save an amount for retired life.
Every average American, small scale entrepreneurs saw themselves in Joe's shoes. Yes, Joe's needs and questions, his fears and uncertainties seemed real. It was what the middle and average class felt. His questions were very symbolic, and its answers needed to prove itself with time. America definitely is in doldrums today and it needed nothing short of a savior . So, will Obama be able to uplift the wobbling economy? Will Americans be ensured with a bright future and stability?
